Glikosol OGTT Solution contains Carbonated Water, Dextrose Monohydrate, Acidity Regulator: Citric Acid, Flavourings: Natural Flavouring Substances, Flavouring Preparations, Flavouring Substances. Contains 82.5g of Dextrose Monohydrate which is equivalent to 75g of Anhydrous Glucose.
Does not contain corn syrup, glucose syrup or preservatives.

What is the shelf-life of Glikosol OGTT Solution and are there any special storage conditions?

When stored unopened at room temperature, Glikosol OGTT Solution has a 24 month shelf-life. Glikosol is ready to drink.
Best served chilled.

What is the correct dosage for Glikosol OGTT Solution?

For oral glucose tolerance testing, the standard dose for an adult is 250ml (one can) of Glikosol OGTT Solution (250ml/75g glucose).

How should an oral glucose tolerance test be performed?

  • Ensure the patient has consumed a normal diet for the three days prior to the test.
  • Confirm the patient has fasted at least nine hours before the test; the ideal test time is around 9.00am.
  • After first blood collection, allow the patient to drink the full contents of the Glikosol OGTT Solution over a five-to-ten-minute period.
  • After two hours take a second blood sample. The patient should sit quietly during the test period and should not smoke.
  • The OGTT should be interpreted in accordance with the venous plasma glucose levels as specified by the World Health Organisation.
